Skiers who are new to our sport — they usually have less confidence and may approach the mountain with caution. These new skiers are generally keen to learn quickly but struggle with controlling turns and speed. Equipment may include shorter, more manoeuvrable skis and softer, more comfort-oriented ski boots.
Skiers who have moved beyond the basics and feel more comfortable on the pistes, making strong parallel turns with consistent edge control. These skiers explore more of the mountain and ski the majority of runs at most resorts, but are still refining their technique to tackle the more difficult runs with confidence. Most intermediate skiers can regulate and control their speed and adapt to a variety of terrain and snow conditions.
Based on each skier's needs and level, we design models with different flex, thanks to the combination of different plastics. Tecnica ski boots are divided into: HARD (flex men's 140-120/women's 115-95), MEDIUM (flex men's 110-90/women's 85-75) and SOFT (flex men's 80-60/women's 65-55).
HARD: for experienced and heavier-built skiers
MEDIUM: for intermediate skiers and/or those of medium build
SOFT: for beginners or lighter skiers
Foot width varies from person to person, which is why our ski boots come in different volumes to meet every skier's needs. Tecnica ski boots are divided into: LV (low – from 93 to 98mm), MV (medium – from 99 to 100mm) and HV (high – 103mm).
LV: for skiers with a narrow foot or those who prefer a closer, more precise fit
MV: for skiers with a medium foot or those who prefer a regular fit
HV: for skiers with a wide foot or those who prefer a comfortable fit
