With a lot of effort and love for children and the mountains, we've managed to create a model academy, by Greek – and not only Greek – standards!

The result of this effort is particularly small, close-knit groups, with two – and sometimes three – instructors, for the children's greater safety as well as their faster progress!
The academy runs from the first snow in December or January until the end of March or early April. Lessons take place mainly at 3-5 Pigadia and, depending on snow, at Seli or Kaimaktsalan.
Children are split into groups of 3-6, depending on their level and age. For 5-year-olds (pre-school) there is the Snowflake programme, with a three-hour daily lesson and a child – instructor ratio of 2:1 (a group of 4 children with two instructors).
Most instructors are certified by an official body (Greece, Austria, Bulgaria) and are members of the Panhellenic Union of Ski Coaches. The person in charge is Giorgos Stavrinos, PE teacher and ski instructor.
Usually, after 4-7 lessons, all the academy's children ski red runs safely!

Everything you want to know
The academy is for children aged 5–17. For younger or older ages there are private day lessons.
Mainly at 3-5 Pigadia. Depending on snow conditions, at Seli or Kaimaktsalan.
On the academy's coaches every Saturday and Sunday, from specific points in Thessaloniki.
3 to 6 children, depending on level and age. If 7 or more children have a similar level, the group also has a second or even a third instructor! For Snowflake children (pre-school – 5 years old) a group of 4 children with two instructors is formed (2:1 ratio).
Most of our coaches have over 15-20 years' experience in ski teaching and working with children. They are also certified by official bodies in Greece, Austria and Bulgaria. The coaching team also includes some – younger – members who usually act as assistant/trainee instructors, as the second or third instructor in a group.

Not necessarily. You can rent the full set of equipment (skis, boots, poles, helmet) from our store for the whole season. Buying children's skis isn't recommended, as children grow and should always have the right equipment for maximum safety and for steadily improving their technique.
- Waterproof ski suit or salopettes and a waterproof jacket
- Base layer top, base layer leggings
- Fleece / soft shell top or vest (down / soft shell)
- Knee-length ski socks
- Ski goggles and waterproof gloves
- Full face for the helmet or Buff / Tube (for the neck and face)
- Ski helmet (compulsory)
Happy Mountain's offices also house a physical store. On enrolment day (One Stop), without needing to come back again, you can complete enrolment, rental and the purchase of equipment for your child. In the store you'll find everything your child will need for skiing.
