Merino wool
Since 1995, merino wool has been an integral part of ORTOVOX mountaineering clothing. The merino wool we use comes from happy sheep raised on inspected farms with ethical practices. Wool is by nature ecological and therefore extremely sustainable. Thanks to the small-diameter fibres of its fine woollen yarns, merino wool is extremely soft and comfortable on the skin. As well as comfort, merino wool offers an ideal microclimate for the body, regulating both moisture and temperature. It is also easy to care for and, thanks to its antibacterial action, neutralises odours.

ORTOVOX WOOL PROMISE (OWP)
Merino wool has been an integral part of ORTOVOX mountaineering clothing since 1995. The focus has always been on protecting people, animals and nature: the merino wool we use comes from selected farms that comply with our own wool standard, the ORTOVOX WOOL PROMISE. These farms are inspected regularly under the OWP to ensure the highest animal welfare standards are met. The OWP is our commitment to fair wool.
